Fishing Information

We offer walleye and northern pike fishing at its very best. Holinshead Lake has over 5000 acres of cool, dark, island-speckled water with several fast-moving rivers. You will do most of your fishing in depths of less than 20 feet. Be ready to catch great numbers of fish along with world-class trophies. We maintain a catch-and-consume policy at the lake in agreement with the MNR to protect our fishery.  Each licensed angler is allowed to catch and “consume” 2 walleye per day under 18.”  Any walleye 18″ or over must be released.  No fish are to be taken home.  You may also keep to consume 2 pike per day under 27″.

PLEASE NOTE
With the 2012 commencement of Ontario’s new Automated Licensing System, Holinshead Lake Outfitters will NO LONGER be able to sell fishing/hunting licenses or Ontario Outdoor Cards.  The new system is not supported by our radio phone system.  Please purchase your 8-Day Conservation License before arrival at any Service Ontario Center, Tourism Center (located immediately after crossing the border, Visa & MasterCard accepted), Canadian Tire Store or D&R Sporting Goods at 485 Memorial Avenue in Thunder Bay (D&R accepts cash or debit card only).  If you have any questions on where to purchase your licenses, please contact us and we will direct you to where you need to go.
